"as Commisar Coran read from the first book of the first chamber,
his fear increased, the book was only information, but there was something about the texts,
this place. He did not like it."
So, you've even made it to the first chamber, the chambers must like you, to let you this far in without, without, well, let's just leave it at that, shall we.
anyway, as I was saying what is WH40K? or for its full name, Warhammer 40,000. Well, I shall tell you, just as long as you can read the scriptures!
Warhammer 40,000, is a great turn-based wargame made by Games Workshop. But this wargame is played
with models, that you have collected built, paited, converted, whatever. It is not a
computer game. This is what makes it so enjoyable (well, that's my opinion anyway.)
Playing Warhammer 40,000, and all those other games connected with it, isn't half the fun
of the whole process of building up an army etc. You get the enjoyment of looking through
the codex (book), and deciding what models you are going to buy next to thrash your opponents with.
The, once you have your models, you can build them. You might want to do a conversion to make
your model look exciting and interesting, or you might prefer to leave the best work to the
painting (personally, I prefer the moddeling). Once you have built the models, you can paint them.
You might like to make up your own colour scheme for the army you are making, or copy another.
As an example, the Space Marines are split into at least a thousand groups, called chapters,
you can make up your own entirely new chapter, and history, or use an existing chapters colour
scheme and history, it's entirely up to you. After painting, you have a new unit to add to
your army. Of course, their are rules as to what units you can have, you can't have an army
that would be able to crush your opponents in one turn, and you can't have an army that is so
small that it would be dead before you even had 1 move! So this is why you have force
organisation charts and points values, you use these to make sure your arnies are even.
